Updating alsa

You can assume that udev will autodetect your sound properly.

If this is not the case, your sound modules have not been detected properly.

To solve this, you can try loading the modules manually: # Redirect the default device to go via the EQ - you may want to do # this last, once you're sure everything is working.

sudo apt-get install alsa-base alsa-tools alsa-tools-gui alsa-utils alsa-oss alsamixergui libalsaplayer0 and at last type apt-get install kmix and hit enter. sudo apt-get install alsa-base alsa-tools alsa-tools-gui alsa-utils alsa-oss alsamixergui libalsaplayer0 and at last type apt-get install kmix and hit enter.
